In 2025, the Taygetos Challenge welcomed its young heroes for the very first time, in a kids’ race where everyone was a winner! Since then, the children’s race has become an integral part of the event.

The kids’ running race covers a distance of 1000m and takes place in the village of Kardamyli on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 18:00.

The race starts from the central square of Kardamyli, right outside the old school. The route leads young runners through the village’s traditional stone-built houses and iconic tower homes, reaching Old Kardamyli before returning through a small section of the Vyros Gorge and finishing back at the old school.

The aim of the race is to introduce children to running in nature and to help them connect with the unique Mani landscape in a festive and joyful atmosphere.

Participation is open to children up to 12 years old, with a signed Parental Consent Form required for registration.

All participants will receive a finisher’s medal, as well as water, juice, and a fruit at the finish line.
